See you from Friday May 29 to Sunday May 31 for a twelfth edition of this artistic stroll through the streets of this popular Nîmois suburb.
An artistic stroll on the slopes of Gambetta, the Points Rouges return, from May 29 to 31, for their twelfth edition, with a theme that fits perfectly with the facets of this popular suburb of downtown Nîmois: “Between the folds”. “This is what cannot be seen… And this can be applied to this neighborhood which hides its alleys, its gardenssays writer Nelly Bouveret, new coordinator with painter Guillaume Blanchet, of this unmissable event on Mother’s Day weekend, born at the initiative of artist-residents. We participate in its life, which is its richness.”
An undeniably artistic wealth since there are many visual artists, sculptors, photographers, musicians, painters… to have installed their creative workshops there. These famous workshops whose facades will be adorned with a red dot symbolizing the route and which will be revealed to passers-by on Saturday May 30 and Sunday May 31 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.“There will be around ten of them opening their doors.” Â Welcoming, in the same way as the Testard and Grandeur Nature art galleries or the Artegem association, the works of around twenty creators. The unique opportunity to exchange, in complete simplicity, with artists about their work while strolling from rue Petit to place Saint-Charles via boulevard Gambetta. With, as a point of departure, the Puits-Couchoux washhouse, at the top of the street of the same name: “It is our base place where artists exhibit their works on the theme Between the folds, continues Nelly Bouveret.
The opening will take place on Friday May 29 at 6:30 p.m. Rayvox radio will give us a musical evening, we will dance.”
Musical walks on Saturday
Still in music, it will be possible to stroll, Saturday May 30, at 11 a.m. (departure from 5 place Saint-Charles), guided by a barrel organ for a poetic-musical stroll, or from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. (departure from 7 rue de Courtieu), to the sound of clarinets, violins, violas, percussion, which will offer impromptu encounters here and there. This year again, the artistic stroll will end on Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Bar du Midi with the raffle draw.“It will be possible to win an original work by an artist, tickets being on sale at the price of €1 in the different locations along the route underlines the writer. It’s no coincidence that we’ve been in this neighborhood for twelve years. We stay there because we have things to exchange and experience there.”And these resident artists have been supported by a loyal audience since 2014 : “This annual meeting, like an open-air laboratory, noted the organizers for the ten years of existence, proves that an experience of self-management can become lasting and appreciated.”
