More than twenty years after its debut, Code Lyoko is preparing to make its comeback. The adventures of Jérémy, Yumi, Ulrich, Odd and Aelita could soon resume in a brand new sequel, currently being developed by two emblematic figures from the original series. Fans will soon be able to sing again…We will go, we will know how to save our existence…â€
All original team back
Director Jérôme Mouscadet and screenwriter Sophie Decroisette, who participated in more than 60 episodes broadcast between 2003 and 2007, have confirmed that they are working on a new project around the universe of Code Lyoko : Sophie is already writing season 5! The two creators point out, however, that the production of an animated series takes time. Between the questions of rights, financing and writing, the project is progressing gradually. Jérôme assures us that we should have more information next September.
A big question now remains: what direction will this new story take? The authors are already imagining several avenues, between an evolution of the characters and an adaptation to today’s technologies. One thing nevertheless seems certain: Jérémy, Yumi, Ulrich, Odd and Aelita should remain at the heart of the story.
Enough to revive the nostalgia of an entire generation, impatient to dive back into the virtual world of Lyoko and find the famous theme song which marked the start of the 2000s. In the meantime, you can find the first four seasons of Code Lyoko streaming on Prime Video.
