As the high tourist season approaches, the city of Ventimiglia has decided to maintain extended hours for music broadcasting in bars, restaurants and other establishments open to the public. The mayor, Flavio Di Muroto sign a municipal arrêté in this sense, applicable from the beginning of June until September 7, 2026.

Like last year, establishments located on the seafront will benefit from a dérogation allowing them to stream music until 1 a.m. Monday to Friday et until 1:30 a.m. on the eve of public holidays and public holidays. In the city centermusic broadcasting will remain authorized until midnight every day.

The municipality explains that it has renewed an already proven system, while introducing adjustments intended to limit noise pollution. Establishments located by the sea must in particular direct their speakers towards the coast after midnightin order to reduce the propagation of sound towards residential areas. Karaoke evenings, considered more sensitive in terms of nuisance, will be limited to reduces the maximum.

Pour Marco Agostadeputy for commerce, this renewal is based on the positive results of the previous summer season.

“The model adopted last year made it possible to find a good balance between the needs of businesses, tourist attractiveness and the expectations of residents.”underlines the elected official. He recalls that the decision was taken after consultation with local professional organizations, notably Confcommercio and Confesercenti.

In Menton and Roquebrune, a different approach

À Chinat the municipality it is endowed dès 2019 of a “Charter of quality, tranquility and exploitation of the public domain”developed with representatives of restaurateurs and cafe owners and which is still active today. The stated objective is to reconcile tourist activity and respect for the neighborhood, without transforming the town into “Death town”.

The system is based on a division of the territory into two zones. In the most touristy areas – notably Les Sablettes, the Promenades de la mer et du Soleil, the ports and the Cocteau square – musical entertainment is authorized volume modéré. In the rest of the city, they must remain at low intensity.

The charter also provides for a significant drop in volume from 10:30 p.m.And one arrêt de la musique à 0 h 30. Musical events are limited to three evenings per week in tourist areas and two in the rest of the town. Control is mainly based on the assessment of municipal police officers, often contacted following complaints from local residents.

À Roquebrune-Cap-Martinthe position is even more restrictive. The municipality has not adopted an order providing for a general extension of music broadcasting hours during the summer season. Activities benefiting from exceptional hours remain limited to one-off authorizations granted in the context of exceptional events.
