Festive atmosphere, pretty tables, decoration in line with the theme of the day: it was in the village hall that the Taluquois’ anniversary evening took place last Friday, who were celebrating their 10th anniversary. This association, chaired by Evelyne Poujol, promotes reading, writing and artistic expression in rural areas, while creating social bonds. Its members meet every 2nd Wednesday of the month.
The network works well because 80 people participated in this evening. They were sure to find a few good words there, a lot of conviviality and even some fun.
On the theme “There was a fable”, listeners were able to discover the history of fables over time and readers were thus presented with Aesop, Phaedra, Fénelon and even Marie de France. Then leaving room for other fables, more or less recent, with La Fontaine and his pasticheurs.
The readers also fed the visitors with savory dishes first. The sweet, a dessert buffet, would arrive later, after the 2nd part devoted to today’s fables, then highlighting local talents in the person of Gilles Marie Baur, author of “FabUles” (volumes I and II), preceded by Gérard Pinson. Finally, a small traditional ball was offered, with a friendly group, La Croch’bal and its repertoire of traditional music and dances.
The association remains open to all those who are passionate about reading. Information by email (evelyne.poujol@orange.fr).
