Looking for a third line to replace Sam Tuifua, expected in La Rochelle, Stade Monois is about to announce the arrival of the Australian Baden Godfrey.

In Mont-de-Marsan, since the club’s descent into the National, ratified at the end of May following the defeat against Nissa Rugby, the leaders have remained silent. President Cazeaux has not yet spoken, but he is working on building a squad for next season. One of his first projects concerned the third line position, since he had to find a rare gem in order to replace Sam Tuifua, the excellent New Zealand number eight, who signed for three years at La Rochelle.

The Landes decision-makers found their happiness in Major League Rugby, since they obtained the agreement of the Australian Baden Godfrey (23 years old). Strong on impact, the third center line (1.88 m, 109 kilos) has played ten matches this season (five starts) and scored three tries. A player with high potential, he was, in 2023, in the extended list to prepare for the U20 World Cup with Australia. He must commit for one year.

Milo Harris will stay

Still ahead, at the right pillar position, the Landes club is tracking Spanish international Guido Reyes (20 years old). Passed by Pau, then loaned to Tarbes this season before the club filed for bankruptcy, he discovered, this winter, the joys of a first selection with “Los Leones”. Under contract until 2029 with the Pau Section, he will be loaned to the Landes next season. Sébastien Piqueronies, the Béarnais manager, confirmed the news this Thursday morning.
At the heel, the CV of Robin Couly (22 years old), whose contract ends at the end of the month in Oyonnax, is circulating on the market. Will he bounce back in the Landes? It’s a possibility. On the staff, Romain Mareuil and Clément Briscadieu will continue the adventure. Scrum coach Roger Ripol is also expected to stay. An agreement has been reached between the different parties, even if nothing has yet been confirmed contractually. Stéphane Barberena will complete the staff to manage the sidelines. Finally, at three-quarters, Lisati scrum-half Milo Harris will stay, and that is good news for the club. The New Zealand number nine, who started seventeen times last year, will honor his second year of contract.
