Taylor Swift clearly has no intention of leaving the top of the charts. The American singer has just signed a new feat with “I Knew It, I Knew You”, the main track of the soundtrack of Toy Story 5which directly entered first place on the prestigious Billboard Hot 100.
This is the fifteenth number one of his career in the United States. A symbolic milestone that allows it to settle down alone in third place among the artists who have accumulated the most titles at the top of the American ranking. Ahead of her are only the Beatles, with 20 number ones, and Mariah Carey, who has a total of 19. Taylor Swift thus overtakes Rihanna and Drake, with whom she previously shared third place on the podium.
The success is also historic for Disney. Since the creation of the Hot 100, only two songs from Disney animated films had already reached first place: “A Whole New World” from Aladdin in 1993 and “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Encanto in 2022. According to Billboard“I Knew It, I Knew You” recorded 27.2 million streams during its first week of operation.
The song also benefited from strong radio play, particularly on country stations, an area that Taylor Swift had no longer really favored since her pop turn initiated with the album 1989. The title also took first place in the American country rankings, becoming the singer’s tenth number one in this category. (mbr)
