There are voices that cross generations without ever aging, that of Frank Michael was one of them. This Italian-Belgian artist, who was initially destined for a career as an electronics technician, finally let his passion for music take over. It was in Wallonia, in the 1970s, that he first made a name for himself, before conquering the public with his title All women are beautiful. A song that has become emblematic, symbol of an entire career dedicated to love. But on June 12, his daughter Sandra Gabelli announced the terrible news on Facebook: “My dad is gone.” Frank Michael died at the age of 79, killed by a devastating cancer, leaving behind more than 40 years of career and millions of inconsolable fans. Fans for whom Sandra wanted to reserve a special place in this mourning, specifying that the visits would be “open to all people who wish to come and say goodbye.” A strong gesture, like the man he was.
Where and when will Frank Michael’s funeral take place?
Sandra Gabelli has since clarified the details of the funeral on her Facebook page. From this Monday, June 15 and until Friday, June 19, fans can go to the Foret & Tejean funeral home in Jemeppe-sur-Meuse, in the Liège region, between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., for a last goodbye. “If you wish to send flowers to my dad, Frank Michael, you can send them to the funeral home,” she also said, inviting everyone to show their affection to him one last time. The funeral will take place on Saturday, June 20, with departure from funeral home at 9 a.m., before a ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Saint-Firmin church in Rotheux-Rimière, Belgium. A final journey to Belgian soil for those who wish to pay homage to him. And Sandra wanted to reserve special attention for the crooner’s fans: “For his fans… The song ‘How many roses’ will be honored at the church in order, if you wish, to offer him one last rose…
What the singer’s producer hid from him until the end
Over the years, Frank Michael had never really left the stage. Again at the end of 2023, the singer unveiled The Symphony of Love, a new album faithful to his romantic universe. But behind the scenes, his state of health seemed increasingly fragile. His producer and long-time friend, Enzo Falzone, confides today that he witnessed, helplessly, the progressive exhaustion of the artist, while continuing to see him honor his commitments with the professionalism that characterized him. It was during a gala given on December 14, 2025, in the church of Bischwiller in Alsace, that he understood that the end was approaching. “Frank was very tired since then, even from flying. His voice was also starting to decline.”[…]“I knew it would be his last gala, but I obviously didn’t tell him,†he confided to Le Parisien. A confidence that resonates today with particular emotion, as Frank Michael leaves behind his partner, his daughter and thousands of fans.
