Faced with the return of high-intensity war, the acceleration of strategic competitions and the rearmament of many powers, France is continuing the transformation of its armies and its defense industry. In an environment marked by uncertainty and the tightening of the balance of power, it adapts its military capabilities in order to preserve its sovereignty, protect its interests and contribute to the security of the European continent.

Eurosatory 2026 highlights several structuring issues in this transformation: acceleration of industrial rates, defense innovation, resilience of supply chains, preparation of forces for high intensity and strengthening of European cooperation. The capabilities presented at the show illustrate the responses provided by the armies, the Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) and the defense industry to the challenges of contemporary conflicts.

A sovereign and competitive defense industry

The French Defense Industrial and Technological Base (BITD) constitutes a central tool of sovereignty. Supported by the 2024-2030 military programming law, it makes it possible to equip forces over the long term, accelerate production rates, strengthen national and European strategic autonomy and respond to the needs of France’s partners and allies.

Strengthening the defense effort requires a profound adaptation of the production tool. The State and manufacturers are engaged in a ramp-up dynamic aimed at producing more, reducing lead times, securing supply chains and strengthening industrial resilience.

Interoperable, scalable and adapted to multi-domain conflicts, the land and air-land equipment presented at Eurosatory are designed to meet the requirements of modern engagements and the return of high-intensity warfare.

A defense carried by the women and men of the Nation

Military superiority is based primarily on human commitment. The Ministry of the Armed Forces and Veterans relies on women and men committed to serving the country’s defense.

Professional forces, reserves, youth, civilian and industrial personnel contribute together to strengthening national sovereignty and resilience. In a context of rearmament and acceleration of defense needs, the mobilization of youth also constitutes a major strategic issue to strengthen the Army-Nation link and prepare the country for contemporary threats.
