The Rouen Dragons are ready for the first match of the semi-finals of the Ligue Magnus ice hockey playoffs, facing the Bordeaux Boxers on Friday, March 27, 2026. The first team to four wins will advance to the final.

Second challenge for the Rouen Dragons in the Ligue Magnus ice hockey playoffs. They face the Bordeaux Boxers in the semi-finals. A new series: the first to four wins qualifies for the final, with the first match taking place on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Rouen’s Île Lacroix ice rink starting at 8 p.m.

In the quarter-finals, the Rouen Dragons defeated Amiens in six matches, with the last one on Monday night in Amiens. Despite the tough battle against Amiens, coach Carl Mallette expressed that his players are mentally and physically ready for the upcoming challenge.

“They are mentally and physically ready despite the tough series against Amiens,” Mallette said.

“This Thursday, it was the best training session of the last month in terms of energy, efficiency, and focus,” added the Rouen coach.

“Bordeaux is an extremely fast team, a team that will have more possession of the puck, so it will be an exciting game for the supporters, with lots of counter-attacks. I expect a faster and more exciting offensive game from both sides. It’s a new series, a new duel against an excellent team, and I expect a beautiful series,” analyzed Carl Mallette.

The Rouen Dragons have faced Bordeaux four times this season, with three wins and one loss (a shootout win for Bordeaux). Captain Loïc Lampérier mentioned that despite previous results, they are starting from scratch in the semi-finals.

“The counters are reset to zero, we know it will be a super complicated series, it will be tight, it will come down to details. Playoffs are mental and physical, and we will be ready, we will be there,” Lampérier stated.

The Rouen players have recovered well this week, according to Simon Lafrance.

“I believe everyone is in good health, which is very positive for us. The rest days were good for us, winning on Monday was beneficial. We can’t wait for it to start, and I think the fans are also excited,” Lafrance said.

Two years ago, in the final against Bordeaux, the Dragons lost the first two matches before winning four in a row to secure their 18th French champions title. The first match of the semi-finals of the Ligue Magnus ice hockey playoffs between Rouen and Bordeaux will kick off at 8 p.m. at Rouen’s Île Lacroix. Match 2 will take place on Saturday, March 28, also at 8 p.m. at Île Lacroix.
