It was in front of an audience of elected officials and association representatives that the town hall of La Ciotat presented, Tuesday evening, the program of the 2026 summer festivities. A season which stretches from June 21 to September 21 and which, according to Mayor Alexandre Doriol (DVD), “will revolve around festivals, culture, music and tradition ”.

In total, 150 events are on the program, accompanied by a free summer guide with more than 10,000 copies printed. “Our city is lively, even a little too lively“, slipped the mayor with a touch of self-deprecation.

The season will open with the Music Festival before moving on to a particularly festive month of July: the Ciotat Jazz Festival from July 5 to 9 at the Théâtre de la Mer, Musique en Vacances from July 16 to 26 with I Muvrini, the Créole Karaïb Plage du July 23 to 26, as well as Ibrahim Maalouf on July 11 and 12. Humor will also be there with You have to laugh August 6 and the tour Get up stand up le 18 août.

Ciotaden traditions will remain at the heart of the program. The votive festivals of August 15, 16 and 19 will feature blessings of boats and fireworks fired from the sea. On August 22, Port-vieux will host the final of the French Nautical Jousting Championships.

On the sports side, a new discipline will appear this summer: sandball, derived from handball which will be represented at the next Olympics. HAS” Without our associative fabric, we would not be the same city“, concluded Alexandre Doriol, saluting the partners who co-construct this program each year.
