Breaking your PEL to attend a Beyoncé, Taylor Swift or Céline Dion concert is a worry now shared with each new tour. A custom with which Charli XCX decided, this Monday, June 8, to partly break, based on the prices – for a handful of Americans, certainly – of her upcoming shows.
For the first time in her career, the most I-don’t-care pop star has announced that a limited number of tickets will be on sale for only $20. “Angel Tickets” (named after the singer’s fans) must be purchased in pairs. The placement will be allocated upon collection by their buyer, on the day of the concert.
The announcement, in parallel with which it was also assured that part of the proceeds from certain other places will be donated to the Transgender Law Center association, was made as part of the kick-off of the Music, Fashion, Film Tour, Charli XCX’s upcoming tour to promote her upcoming self-titled record.
Eighth solo album in his discography, Music, Fashion, Film must be released during the month of July, and remains for the moment a great mystery, despite the first two singles and a tease from the artist, according to which he should move away from his usual dance and electro style to get closer to rock.
Charli XCX in the USA (for now)
Please note, only the United States is currently affected by the tour, no dates in Europe or other continents having been announced. It will kick off in Philadelphia in September, with a view to closing in Las Vegas a little over a month later.
Given the crazy cost of concert tickets in the United States due to the dynamic pricing in force in Uncle Sam’s country, Charli XCX’s gesture towards small wallets is beneficial. However, this is not an isolated case. This Saturday, Phoebe Bridgers gave a surprise charity concert at Madison Square Garden in New York, free of charge. The minimum? One dollar.
The sale of lower-cost tickets to see Charli XCX will take place in August. The conditions for obtaining them have not been revealed. For all other tickets, yes. The logic is the same as for each of the major tours of the moment, namely a pre-sale of the artist, followed by the general sale. It takes place in the coming days, and already promises a lot of anxiety to his fans on Ticket Master.
