OECD lowers its forecast for global growth in 2026

The OECD was more pessimistic on Wednesday for global growth in 2026 due to the rise in energy and fertilizer prices caused by the war in the Middle East. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development lowered its forecast in its quarterly report on the world economy, according to two scenarios: that of growth reduced to 2.8% in the event of “disruptions limited in time”, or a clear slowdown to 2.1% if these continued until 2027. US says it disabled tanker that tried to violate its blockade of Iranian ports

The American army announced on Tuesday that it had disabled an oil tanker by firing on its engine room to prevent it from reaching the Iranian island of Kharg in violation of the blockade decided by Washington against Iranian ports. In Lebanon, Israeli strikes in the south killed five people, injured hospital staff

Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon left five people dead on Tuesday, including a child, and 48 injured, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced.
