The media storm surrounding Patrick Bruel shows no signs of weakening. As his name continues to be mentioned in several legal proceedings, a new complaint has been filed, according to RTL. A woman filed a complaint on Tuesday, March 24 in Belgium for sexual assault dating back to 2010. At that time, the complainant was working in the film industry and was promoting the movie “Comme les cinq doigts de la main”, in which the singer was involved. She accuses Patrick Bruel of assaulting her backstage at a Belgian media event in Brussels.

Context: Patrick Bruel is facing new allegations of sexual assault dating back to 2010, adding to the legal troubles he is currently facing.

Fact Check: The complainant claims the assault occurred in a professional setting, and she alleges that she did not consent to the singer’s advances.

The complainant, now 39 years old, recounts unwanted touching and asserts that she pushed him away multiple times without success. According to RTL, this woman had previously approached the authorities at the time but later withdrew her complaint. Fifteen years later, she has decided to revisit her decision and restart the legal process. This new accusation joins a series of revelations aimed at the artist in recent days, further compromising his public image.

Fact Check: Patrick Bruel is also facing two other recent complaints – one for rape and the other for attempted rape and sexual assault.

One of the recent complaints was filed by Daniela Elstner, the director of Unifrance, who described the incident as a “violent gesture, something abusive, something she reacted to before managing to escape in shock”. The accusations, reported by Mediapart and confirmed by RTL, are accompanied by testimonies from several other women recounting incidents of sexual violence. In response to these accusations, Patrick Bruel strongly denies any wrongdoing, stating he never sought to compel anyone into sexual acts. This is not the first time he has faced such allegations. In 2019, two investigations were opened following complaints from masseuses in Perpignan and Corsica. They were eventually closed at the end of 2020 due to insufficient evidence. Now, attention turns to the legal developments of these new cases, which could potentially influence the artist’s career, as he remains innocent until proven guilty.

Fact Check: Patrick Bruel’s legal issues have raised questions about the future of his career, as he continues to assert his innocence amidst mounting accusations.
