For the second year in a row, the streets of downtown Toulon will vibrate to the rhythm of music, dance and shows.

This Monday 1is juin, a big one “fanfarandole” (contraction of fanfare and farandole, you will have understood), will love the heart of the city on the initiative of the Volatile. Four CM1 and CM2 classes, from Toulon schools and Valletta (1), will participate in this artistic stroll presented as a real “moment of sharing and cultural discoveryâ€. They will be guides in music by the Toulouse BTP brass band.

“The objective is to allow children to access different artistic forms, to understand that art can also be expressed in public space and to work with artists for several months »explains Romain, president of the association.

Preparation of several months with artists

For several weeks, the students have been preparing the event with two choreographers, a director and a musician. Everyone accompanied the children in the creation of several performances over 15 hours divided into workshops. “The shows will be presented between 10:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. throughout the route.”explains Julia, fanfarandole coordinator.

Departure will be from the port of Toulon before joining Place du Globe then Place Vatel, where two performances will be offered to the public. The children will then take a break at the Alexandre I park around a picnic, before heading out to wander the streets of the city center. The finale will take place au théâtre Liberté. “The children will share a great moment of celebration with art at the center,” promises Romain. And for some, it will also be an opportunity to open the doors of a theater for the first time. »

Beyond being a simple animation, this fanfarandole aims above all to convey a simple message: to bring art into the streets, integrate children into cultural creation… and “Above all, spread a little joy along your path”concludes the association.
