The team from the film shot in seven towns in the Meuse will also be present on Saturday June 6, at 6:30 p.m. at the Ciné-Quai in Saint-Dizier.

“Can we still see a film being born outside the major production centers, without a headliner, and see it cross borders simply carried by its audience?†The message dates from last spring. It was sent to the editorial offices by Alice Delacroix-Verchet, press officer for the film “Victoire and the secret of the lands of Meuse”.

A feature film “shot in 21 days for 60,000 euros” completed the press release, announcing some good starting figures. Like these “more than 4,000 entries in nine weeks in two Meuse theaters”. A 100% Meuse product, broadcast in theaters in the Grand Est, Luxembourg and Belgium, and which will be screened at the Saint-Dizier cinema, on June 6 at the end of the day, in the presence of part of the team.

A popular genre, treasure hunting

Pauline Driouich, the director of Ciné-Quai, was convinced by this regional work, hoping that the Bragard public would respond and give this “independent production from a rural area” a chance,” adds Alice Delacroix-Verchet.

But what is this film by Baptiste Kasprowicz about? About Victoire, a young Parisian teenager in conflict with her father, who comes to spend her vacation with the family in the Meuse. She will have to find a treasure, “the law of the laws of King Lothaire”, to save her grandmother’s house.

All the codes of the fantastic are there and the Verdun director could be satisfied at the start of 2026 with the good feedback, at least at the local level, for his film released on December 17, 2025. And the Meuse people found themselves well again in “Victoire et le secret des terres de Meuse” filmed in seven municipalities in their department: Verdun, Bar-le-Duc, Commercy, Saint-Mihiel, Avioth, Belleville-sur-Meuse and Viéville-sous-les-Côtes.

Winner of the best screenplay at the Red Movie Award in Reims, “Victoire and the Secret of the Lands of Meuse” takes on a popular genre, treasure hunting. The press kit evokes multiple references to must-haves of the genre, from the mythical “Goonies.” for the initiatory adventure”, Da Vinci Code “for the historical investigation” and Indiana Jones and Benjamin Gates “for the telling of heritage and mystery”. Great references.

The result is a 1 hour 32 minute film, shot in 21 days with eleven actors, 300 extras and around sixty technicians at the helm.
