With the arrival of fine weather, Montigny-lès-Metz is relaunching its summer event “Montigny Jardins”. For a month, the city’s green spaces will welcome a series of free shows mixing music, humor, dance and family entertainment. Every Friday at 7 p.m., residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a cultural break in the open air, in different gardens and parks in the town.
The kick-off will be given on June 5 at the Jardin des Découvertes with “Le Magnifique Bon à Rien”, a humorous show inspired by the world of the spaghetti western and the cult characters of the film The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. On June 12, the Ballet Corpus of the Opéra-Théâtre de l’Eurométropole de Metz will take over the Europa-Courcelles park for a choreographic creation mêlant émotion et scénographie contemporaine.
The program will then give pride of place to music with the Alsatian duo “Les Escrocs du Swing”, on June 19 at the Jardin de la Piscine. Their repertoire pays homage to gypsy jazz and the legacy of Django Reinhardt. On June 26, the duo “Le Pont des Saveurs” will offer an original mix of slam, electro, jazz and funk in front of the Blory garden.
The event will close on July 5 with a large family picnic in the park of the Château de Courcelles. Entertainment, catering and moments of sharing will extend this spirit of relaxation and conviviality which now makes “Montigny Jardins” an unmissable event at the start of summer in Moselle.
