The controversy began after a coronation scene in episode 11 of Perfect Crown, which was considered problematic by some of the audience. After this, Byeon Woo Seok presented a written apology, explaining that he had not properly understood the historical context of the project.
Even after the drama ends, the reactions continue. A petition submitted to the National Assembly has exceeded 50,000 signatures, requesting its removal from platforms and broadcast channels. Despite this, the drama remains available on certain platforms, which keeps the debates going.
