Even if there is currently optimism, negotiations are difficult to end the war in the Middle East. It must be said that Iran, the United States and Israel pursue different objectives.
“For Iran, the issue is existential, for the United States it is short-term,” said Ali Vaez, of the International Crisis Group. What are the issues for Iran?

The country today needs “an injection of hundreds of billions of dollars to be able to get back on its feet,” analyzes Ali Vaez. But that money won’t be available until it resolves “its problems with the outside world in a fundamental way.” “It’s one thing to survive a hot war, it’s another to freeze in a cold peace.”
