Royal Run of Denmark: Prince Christian runs his 5 km… before returning to the army

Caught up in recent times by strenuous military service, Prince Christian, monopolized by these obligations, was still able to put on his sneakers for the famous annual Royal Run, an event launched in 2018 to celebrate the 50th birthday of his father King Frederik X. On this Monday sunny, so he proved himself on the streets of Ringkøbing by running 5 kilometers in 22 minutes and 22 seconds.

In an interview with Danish television channel TV2, he said: “I was looking forward to being here, and I am also happy to find a reassuring setting.†He who, the day before, was in full military exercise with the army on the occasion of his service. Regarding the latter, he says he is happy with the fact of having to prioritize his royal obligations over those relating to the army: “I see it as if I had obtained the two best sides of a very good cake. I feel really good in both situations and I enjoy being in both worlds. When duty calls, you must be there†at-il déclaré.

Crown Prince Christian was nevertheless unable to participate in the 10 kilometers of Copenhagen, and this time he will have to, on the contrary, prioritize his military service, an intensive 10-day exercise required. But the successor to the Danish throne is not rushing, and is trying to move forward with complete peace of mind. “I still have many years ahead of me. I look forward to advancing step by step, year after year… words that are intended to be responsible, when we know what is expected the young man of only 20 years oldalready feeling good in his sneakers.
