The organizers of the 24 Hours of Le Mans have decided to turn an important page this year. After more than twenty years at the microphone of the circuit, Vincent Cerutti will not participate in this new, highly anticipated edition. For good reason, Hapsatou Sy’s ex is in turmoil. This decision comes a few months after the presenter’s conviction for sexual assault, a case which he appealed, evoking an act inspired by Twilight. For its part, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest speaks above all of a desire to “make the system evolve”.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans turn the page Vincent Cerutti
Iconic voice of the 24 Hours of Le Mans since the beginning of the 2000s, Vincent Cerutti will not be present during the 94th edition, organized from June 10 to 14. An absence which marks a real change for this legendary race, created in 1923 and followed each year by thousands of automobile enthusiasts. According to information relayed by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, this decision is part of a desire to modernize the animation of the event. The ACO thus specifies that it has chosen to “refocus this year the presentation of the 24 Hours of Le Mans around Bruno Vandestick, the emblematic voice of the event for many years”. For the moment, Vincent Cerutti has not reacted publicly to this eviction.
This announcement also comes in a delicate context for the 44-year-old host. Last February, Vincent Cerutti was convicted of sexual assault, a legal decision which he has since appealed. Even if the ACO assures that this change responds to an evolution of its system, this affair continues to fuel discussions around the event. Despite this controversy, the organizers wish to maintain the prestigious image of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, considered one of the most emblematic races in the world with the Indianapolis 500 and the Monaco Grand Prix. This new edition should therefore combine automotive tradition, spectacle and novelties in order to attract a large audience in Sarthe.
An XXL musical program expected in Sarthe
Beyond the automobile competition, the 24 Hours of Le Mans also remain an unmissable festive event. Each year, several artists perform on the sidelines of the races to thrill the spectators present on the circuit and in the city center of Le Mans. After the notable performances of Eddy de Pretto, Pascal Obispo, Kungs and Kool & The Gang last year, the organizers have once again focused on popular headliners. This varied musical program should make it possible to prolong the atmosphere throughout the event. Between rock, electro and French variety, the public will be able to enjoy several concerts organized throughout the week of festivities in Sarthe. The concerts will kick off on June 10 with Jean-Louis Aubert, former member of the group Téléphone. The next day, Pete Doherty and his group The Libertines will take over in front of the expected crowds. Then, on June 12, German DJ Robin Schulz will participate in the big parade organized in the city center of Le Mans. Finally, during the weekend, Magic System and Mosimann will ensure the atmosphere on the circuit. Thanks to this eclectic program, the 24 Hours of Le Mans confirm their desire to combine motorsport and popular entertainment. The organizers hope to attract fans of endurance races as well as fans of music and open-air shows.
