Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of services, will receive the “entertainment personality of the year” award at Cannes Lions, the international creativity festival. This, which takes place in Cannes every year, is among the most prestigious events in the advertising, communication and creative sector.
A prize for Eddy Cue
The 2026 edition of the festival will take place from June 22 to 26 and Eddy Cue will be present in Cannes on the first day to give a speech. He will be accompanied by Jerry Bruckheimer, an important film producer who notably produced F1Â : le film with Apple.
Simon Cook, the boss of Cannes Lion, declares:
Eddy Cue has continued to push the boundaries of entertainment and storytelling, creating platforms and experiences that have redefined the way audiences interact with culture. Under his leadership, Apple not only produced world-class content, but also shaped the future of entertainment through innovation, creativity and an unwavering commitment to quality. We are delighted to award Eddy the title of “Entertainment Personality of the Year 2026”.
Last year, Eddy indicated that Apple prefers quality over quantity:
We have always considered art to be an integral part of our identity. But we never imagined we would get into the production of films or television series. We noticed that the world was changing and that everyone seemed to favor quantity. We thought there was an opportunity for us if we really focused on quality.
Apple TV is one of the services under the supervision of Eddy Cue. The streaming service, launched in 2019, has enjoyed several successes over the years. There was notably the Oscar for best film for CODA.
