For several months, Patrick Bruel has been at the heart of a vast controversy after the accusations made against him by several women. According to various media, numerous testimonies speak of sexist and sexual violence, while several complaints are currently being examined in France and Belgium. Among the most publicized accusations is that of Flavie Flament. In a video interview published by Mediapart on May 18, 2026, the host claims to have been “violée” et “drugs” by the singer in 1991 when she was 16 years old. She says she felt “an absence, a total blackout” after drinking tea at Patrick Bruel’s home before regaining consciousness in his bed. “At 16, it’s normally the age of the first emotions. It’s not the age for rape in a Parisian apartment”she declares in this interview.
Patrick Bruel concerts canceled
The affair is also starting to have concrete consequences on the singer’s tour. The 19th of 2026, The Press announced the suspension of the concerts that Patrick Bruel was to perform on December 3, 4 and 5 at the Théâtre Capitole in Quebec. In a press release, promoter Gestev explained his decision: “Given the current context and the impossibility of ensuring its promotion, Gestev has decided to indefinitely suspend the Patrick Bruel shows scheduled for next December at the Théâtre Capitole.” Ticket holders will be refunded. For the moment, the concerts scheduled in Montreal are still being maintained. The Montreal Olympia website still displays the performances scheduled for November 27, 28 and 29, and several tickets remain available for sale. In France, no date has yet been canceled despite a petition supported by several feminist associations and already signed by more than 20,000 people.
The singer denies the facts
Faced with the accusations, Patrick Bruel and his lawyers continue to firmly contest the alleged facts. Guest on BFMTV Tuesday May 19, 2026, Me Christophe Ingrain, lawyer for the singer, affirmed that the relationship between Patrick Bruel and Flavie Flament was “perfectly consented” and that it would have taken place over several years in the form of meetings “episodic”. “Patrick Bruel is very clear: he never forced or drugged Flavie Flament. There was no rape”insisted the lawyer. A version totally rejected by the host, who assures in Mediapart not have “absolutely never had a relationship” with the artist. Flavie Flament also said “sidérée” by the comments made by the singer’s lawyers. “It’s insulting to me and it’s also insulting to all women”she reacted. For his part, Patrick Bruel, who benefits from the presumption of innocence, published a press release on Instagram on May 17 in which he claims not to have “never forced a woman”is “drugged, manipulated or sought to subjugate anyone.”
