Young and talented musicians, the symphony orchestra of the City of Mâcon, the choir of Michel Laplenie and several open-air concerts are on the program for the 23e Edition of the Nuits d’été de Mâcon festival which will take place from July 20 to 24.
It is at the cloister of the Maison des Saints-Anges that the festival will begin this year with Mathilde Calderini (flute), Mathilde Borsarello (violin), Violaine Despeyroux (viola) and Gauthier Hermann (cello). On the program: Schubert, Mozart, Beethoven and Zoltan Kodaly.

The next day, at the Senecé hotel, Mathilde Borsarello (violin), Violaine Despeyroux (viola) and Gauthier Hermann will be on stage with the pianists Xavier Le Roux and Jean-Pascal Meyer (the last three are also founders and artistic directors of the festival) for an evening dedicated to the music of Mahler, Rachmaninov and Mendelssohn.
The third day of the festival will be that of the symphony orchestra of the City of Mâcon under the direction of David Hurpeau in concert at Place Saint-Pierre with, as guest, Mathilde Calderini, principal flute of the Radio France philharmonic orchestra. On the program: Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Bizet and Fauré.
Thursday July 23, return to the Senecé hotel for a piano recital by Samuel Bismut, a young musician supported by Gourdon Fonds and who will play Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven, Liszt and Barcarolle.
The last evening of the Nuits d’été 2026 will take place in the cloister of the Ursulines museum with Hugues Leclère, pianist and storyteller who will offer a show around works by Gesualdo, Tchaikovsky, Magnard, Satie and Debussy. The same day, At the Saint-Vincent church, the amateur choir directed by Michel Laplenie will offer a concert of English vocal music, “Saxony and Venice†.
