An armed attack was carried out by an unidentified person against the Islamic Center located in the city of San Diego, in the US state of California.

According to information relayed by the American media, an armed attack targeted the Islamic Center in San Diego, California.

San Diego Police Department officials told Anadolu correspondent that several people were shot during the attack.

In a publication posted on the San Diego Police Department account on X, a social network based in the United States, it was announced that the assailant had been neutralized.

The identity of the attacker has not yet been determined.

In a written statement from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), it was indicated that, according to initial findings, the death of a member of the mosque community has been confirmed.

The press release also specifies that children undergoing training were in the building at the time of the attack and that “several people were hit by bullets”, while condemning this attack.
