Thursday, May 28, Mémo Codo, from the Codognan Cultural Crossroads (CCC), will offer an “Arlesian day” outing with discovery of the Luma space in the morning, followed by a walk in the tree-lined path that surrounds it. Free lunch, and in the afternoon, guided tour, between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m., of the Arlaten Museum.
Luma Space is an artistic and cultural complex of the Luma Foundation created by art collector Maja Hoffman. The site hosts exhibitions, conferences and shows in the Luma Tower and within the Parc des Ateliers. The emblematic building of the complex is the futuristic tower by architect Franck Gehry. From the height of 55 m, the view extends from the Camargue to the Alpilles.
The Arlaten museum is located in the center of Arles. Frédéric Mistral created, in 1896, this museum dedicated to Provençal culture and traditions. In 1904, thanks to the money he had received for the Nobel Prize for Literature, Mistral installed the museum in the Laval-Castellane hotel, classified as a Historic Monument. In 2021, the museum was restored and expanded after the acquisition of the Jesuit chapel.
