It is perhaps the most beautiful Renaissance style castle in Aveyron which opens its doors for 3 days.
A festive weekend is being prepared at the Château de Bournazel. From May 29 to 31, The 16th century building and its garden offer a conference, a concert and an exceptional visit. It all begins with a spotlight on the works of Philippe de Champaigne, an artist of the 17th century. With the conference program, the study of the works of this painter, his inspirations and even his philosophy.
A highlight which will end on Saturday May 30 with the holding of a concert. At 8 p.m., Claire Lefilliâtre on vocals and Stéphane Fuget on harpsichord will perform a period register, designed to blend ideally with the painter’s works. “Concert spectators will have the privilege of listening to the music performed on Claude Labrèche’s harpsichord. In 2024, the Château de Bournazel acquired this rare instrument”specifies the establishment. Finally, these three days will conclude on Sunday at 3 p.m., with the organization of an exceptional visit to parts of the castle that are usually private.
“In the company of the owner, visitors will discover the 18th century apartment and the rich collection of furniture, paintings and sculptures from the 16th to the 18th century. The visit will continue with the discovery of the Renaissance library, established thanks to the generosity of several donors who have donated part of their personal libraries at the disposal of the endowment fund of the Château de Bournazel”we invite from the side of the organization.
