The book “Addiction to rock” reveals Patrick Coutin’s intact passion for music and for Sète.
At 74 years old, Patrick Coutin has long demonstrated that he was not just the simple author of I like watching girlsreleased in 1981. A title that stuck in people’s minds. Fifteen albums later, plus the “Stars 80” tour, the artist continues to travel the roads. Saturday, he was at Discomaniaks, rue de Tunis, to sign his book, Addiction au rock. A work in which we find a lot of him, obviously. But also a lot of Sète. He, the native of Sfax (Tunisia), recognizes himself in this city which has become over time “chère à son cÅ“ur et chère à son âme”.
Between Sète walks and Mediterranean inspirations
Here, on the singular island, he even has a boat docked in port. Addiction to Rock recounts in particular his walks in Sète, in bars, parks, and even at the marine cemetery. “In Sète, I feel accepted, it is a profoundly Mediterranean city, viscerally cultural, passionate. The sailor that I am finds himself completely in this spirit, sometimes a little rock’n’roll, angry, but who accepts difference.”
