Making urban cultures accessible to all: this is the unchanged ambition of Urban Cultures Week in Haute-Garonne. Organized by the Departmental Council, this major artistic, cultural and musical event will return from May 26 to 31 for its 7th edition. From Toulouse to Saint-Gaudens via Fronton and Villefranche-de-Lauragais, the event will take place in près of 20 commons of the department to promote urban cultures well beyond the big cities.

This year, 48 events and projects are programmed, including 25 meetings for the general public and 23 cultural actions aimed at middle school students, young people on child welfare or people with disabilities.

An XXL edition

This 2026 edition boasts a particularly eclectic program. The classics beatbox, street art, rap, slam, urban dance, deejaying, freestyle football and skateboarding will naturally be in the spotlight during the festival, which this year extends to house dance or roller dance.

In the idea of a culture “accessible everywhere in Haute-Garonne, for everyone”recalled by Sébastien Vincini, president of the Departmental Council, the festival will be presented to the general public in 18 Haut-Garonnaise municipalitieswhile 22 will host cultural activities. More than 100 partners participated in this large-scale organization, including 57 associations, structures and cultural places.

Anne Boyer, vice-president in charge of Culture, recalls that Urban Cultures Week has already hosted 19,000 spectators, 184 projects and 682 artistsprofessionals and amateurs alike.
