The Nagham Andalousie association, created on July 3, 2024 in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), in partnership with Odalie, will perform in Barrôme (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) on May 23, 2026 at 8:30 p.m. in the multi-activity room.

This group was born from a friendship between Amine Benabid, qanoun player (plucked string instrument from the table zither family), Sarah Hamitouche, pianist trained in classical piano in Algiers, and Jihane Houari, singer and violinist, wishing to share their Algerian heritage, sacred and precious, music Arab-Andalusian, as well as their musical memories which they preserve with love, sensitivity and talent.

At the same time, the association aims to promote the teaching of Andalusian music, to help with learning old instruments, such as the mandolin, the guitar and the zither, as well as to develop the musical bases in children, in particular by working on the musical ear and the sense of rhythm.

Arab-Andalusian music, born from the marriage of Arab, Berber, Jewish and Spanish cultures at the time of Al-Andalus (medieval Muslim Spain), is a musical art where melodies, rhythms and poetic texts respond with great refinement.

At the price of €15, the concert will be followed by a snack offered by Odalie, an association based in Rougon, which aims to promote cultural activities in the south-east of the department.
