It’s a small page in the history of Pau which will be turned at the end of the season. Luke Whitelock has announced that he is going to hang up his crampons. “After careful consideration, I have decided that the time has come for me to end my career as a professional rugby player. Playing for the last seven seasons at the Section has been a huge honor. I feel a lot of pride to have been able to contribute, even modestly, to the evolution and growth of the club. With my family, we fell in love with Pau, Béarn and its inhabitants, who have become our second home to my teammates of yesterday and today, thank you. created bonds that go well beyond the field to the Section and its staff, thank you for giving me the opportunity to practice the sport that I love and for believing in me. It has truly been an extraordinary life experience.explained the adopted Béarnais.

An adventure with his brother

Arrivé à Pau in 2019 from the Highlanders, he became a real locker room executive to the point of being named team captain. In seven seasons in Béarn, he has so far played 106 matches, including 95 as a starter. Above all, the one who wore the legendary All Blacks jersey seven times was able to play with his brother Sam. Glory of the men in black, the world champion in 2015 ended his career with Pau, but his time will be less remembered than that of his little brother. The latter can still experience a historic season by leading the Section into the final phase for the first time in the history of the Top 14. For that, it will already be necessary to get rid of the Clermontois at the Hameau (this Saturday 2:30 p.m.).
