The three-day ceasefire, broken numerous times between Saturday and Monday, already seems a long way away. Russia killed at least 16 people and injured around 40 in a large air attack on the Ukrainian capital, kyiv, on Thursday May 14, declared Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Previous reports showed ten dead and 45 injured.

“Overnight, the Russians launched more than 670 attack drones and 56 missiles into Ukraine”had counted, earlier Thursday, the head of state on social networks, evoking “ballistic, aeroballistic and cruise missiles”. The targets hit in kyiv are “purely civil”assured the leader, who calls on his international partners to “don’t stay silent about this attack”. Operations were underway Thursday morning to search for possible victims “trapped under the rubble of a collapsed high-rise building”according to emergency services.

A vehicle of a UN humanitarian mission in Ukraine was hit “twice” by Russian drones in the southern region of Kherson, the Ukrainian president also denounced. A video published on Telegram by the military governor of the area, Oleksandr Prokudin, shows two vehicles, one of which clearly identified as belonging to the United Nations, severely damaged.

On X, Emmanuel Macron denounced Thursday “a new massive drone and missile strike against Ukrainian cities and civilians, the largest in the last four years”. For the President of the Republic, “Russia is making its aggression a little worse”et “shows all the hypocrisy with which she negotiated the fragile truce of the last days”.
