War in the Middle East: Donald Trump promises a "complete victory" against Iran, believing that the ceasefire "hangs by a thread"

A fragile ceasefire. Donald Trump affirmed on Monday May 11 that the United States would emerge completely victorious from the war against Iran, in the midst of an impasse between Tehran and Washington to find a way out of the conflict.

“We will have a complete victory. We have already had, in theory, a complete victory from a military point of view,” declared the American president to the press at the White House.

According to the American president, the ceasefire is “hanging by a thread”. The truce is “on life support”, he also said, while the two camps have so far failed to reach an agreement to end the war.

“The ceasefire is on massive life support, like when the doctor comes in and says, ‘Sir, your loved one has exactly one percent chance of living,'” he said in the Oval Office of the White House.
