A large fire brigade deployed after a small fire under the La Défense slab – Defense-92.fr

Lots of firefighters for a small fire. A large fire brigade was dispatched this Sunday shortly after 5 p.m. to the La Défense business district, after the discovery of smoke in the between-deck of Les Reflets, linked to the Voie des Bâtisseurs.

The fire, which caused no casualties, broke out in a technical room visibly occupied by a homeless person. The numerous belongings accumulated in this small space of a few square meters were completely destroyed.

To overcome the disaster, around fifteen machines were dispatched, as well as nearly 80 firefighters. “Defense is a place where we immediately send very heavy resources, especially in the deserted roads under the slab,” indicates a BSPP spokesperson, recalling that “the difficulty was the smoke” in this space under the slab.

This type of fire is far from being a first in the La Défense district. It happens, more or less regularly, that premises squatted by homeless people catch fire. However, some fires break out in parking lots, for various reasons, and are not necessarily linked to homeless people. A little less than a year ago, in June 2025, a car burned in the Iris parking lot. There too, a heavy fire brigade had been mobilized.
