Loïs Boisson is not succeeding. Engaged in the first round of the WTA 125 in Parma (Italy) this Monday, the Haut-Savoyarde lost in three sets (7-6[5], 1-6, 2-6) against the Czech Dominika Salkova (117th in the world). Initially scheduled for midday, the French player’s match was delayed due to rain in Italy.

Once on the court, the Roland-Garros semi-finalist started the match strong by quickly breaking the Czech player. However, she eventually lost her serve twice before finding the resources to come back to 4-4. Mentally strong, Loïs Boisson managed to win the first set in a tie-break after a little scare. While leading 6-0, her opponent caught up to 6-5 before she closed it on her serve (7-5).

But the situation changed, with the Haut-Savoyarde conceding the second set in just over 30 minutes (6-1). The third and final set followed the same pattern (6-2). Dominika Salkova proved stronger to qualify in 2 hours and 26 minutes, further plunging Loïs Boisson into doubt just two weeks before Roland-Garros.
