Drinks, food, decoration… The production of “Mask Singer” reveals the long “list of requests” of international stars

American singer Jason Derulo hid behind the “Hedgehog” costume

Tailor-made boxes for exceptional guests. Guest in “Puremédias, l’Hebdo” on T18, Anthony Meunier, producer of “Mask Singer”, spoke about the famous requirements of the celebrities who participate in the show. And unsurprisingly, it is especially the international stars who stand out for their requests.

“International stars have riders”

International stars, generally, especially those of this year who are at a very high level, have what we call riders, that is to say a list of tricks, and it has to be in the dressing room“, he explains. Behind this technical term lies in reality a whole set of very precise requests: “a rider is everything you need to provide in terms of food, drinks, decoration, etc.“Requirements that production accepts without hesitation.”Yes, because they make the effort to come across the world for 24 hours. It is a type of fruit… “, slips Anthony Meunier as an example, without saying more about the most unusual requests. A discretion which maintains the mystery around these prestigious guests.

Because “Mask Singer” continues to rely on a spectacular casting to seduce the public. The objective remains unchanged: to discover who is hiding behind the spectacular costumes. For its ninth season, launched on April 24, the entertainment led by Camille Combal promises many new features. Among them, a launch in three evenings, but also new rules intended to spice up the competition. From now on, the investigators – Chantal Ladesou, Kev Adams, Laurent Ruquier and Michaël Youn – can lose points in the event of an error, and will have to win mini-games to access the clues. A revised mechanics to reinforce the suspense, while retaining the famous tapes for viewers.

“Mask Singer” 2026: We have already unmasked the Bouquet… and according to us, it could be a former winner of the “Star Academy”

On the casting side, the production is thinking big. Thirteen personalities are participating in this season, some of whom have won the César, the Molière or the Grammy Awards. Two international stars are also announced. The public was already able to get a glimpse of it during the second issue, broadcast on May 1, with the presence of a celebrity followed by more than 100 million subscribers. Hidden under the Hedgehog costume, the artist was finally unmasked: it was Jason Derulo, American singer with multiple worldwide hits.

In an interview awarded to an Australian media in 2017the star had already mentioned his “rider”: “One thing I’ve noticed is that whatever’s in my dressing room, I’ll eat it. I try to make it really healthy, so I have lots of vegetables, fruits and protein shakes. One thing I always have is a basketball hoop in my dressing room, so if you go in, be careful, because you might get dunked on it.
