The Blois Foot 41, last in its National 2 pool, still has two matches to play, even though the writing has been on the wall since April 25th and the defeat at home against Épinal. After hosting Beauvais this Saturday, May 9, and then travelling to Dieppe the following week, it will be time to think about the next season in National 3 after a very complicated season.

But François Jacob did not wait until mid-May to look ahead. On Monday, May 4th, the club president made several announcements to La Nouvelle République. Kévin Pradier, who will lead the last two matches of the season and whose departure has already been announced, will be replaced next season on the bench by his assistant, Arnaud Aurouet.

Aurouet, “child of the club”

The “child of the club,” as President Jacob describes him, who played for the BF41 and coached in several categories, had previously turned down the position several times, most recently a year ago when Cédric Hengbart joined Avranches. But this time, the technician in spirit, a sports educator in the city of Blois, responded positively to this new proposal.

And beyond the name of the new coach, François Jacob made several announcements regarding the club’s new sports policy. In the current economic situation, the budget is expected to decrease by about 20%. This implies a continued focus on training at the club but a return to a more amateur approach for the first team. With a smaller staff, training sessions will now take place in the evening so that players can work and/or attend training during the day.
