The UEFA has revealed the referees who will officiate in the Champions League semi-final second leg, including the Bayern-PSG match.
A good memory for Parisians. UEFA has appointed the named João Pinheiro to referee the Champions League semi-final second leg between Bayern and PSG, on Wednesday (9 p.m., Canal+), at the Allianz Arena. The 38-year-old Portuguese whistle has already refereed Paris this season. It was last August 13th in Udine, during the UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham (2-2, 4-3 pen). He also officiated a match of OM (3-2 victory against Union Saint-Gilloise) and Strasbourg (4-0 against Mainz). João Pinheiro has also officiated for Bayern twice, in victories against Slovan Bratislava (3-1) in January 2025 and on the field of PSV Eindhoven (1-2) last January.
This is the first time that João Pinheiro will officiate at such a high level match in the Champions League (14 total C1 matches), as he has only refereed three matches in the Champions League final stage so far, one round of 16 match in 2025 and two qualifiers this year. However, he has refereed in the Europa League semi-final this season and the Europa Conference League in 2025.
