The MSC Cruise Division has acquired a production studio that will develop entertainment and original productions for MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys.
The MSC Group’s Cruise Division is taking entertainment to the next level with the creation of MSC Creative Studios, offering passengers world-class entertainment experiences. The company has acquired a production studio currently undergoing renovation to become MSC Creative Studios, a new facility dedicated to developing entertainment and training artists.
The studio is expected to be fully operational by July 2026, to support the creation of shows and productions for MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys by the end of the 2026 season and beyond.
A Central Hub for Development
The new facility will serve as a central hub for MSC’s entertainment development, bringing together creative, technical, and production teams under one roof. MSC Creative Studios will include dedicated space for aerial rehearsals, eleven dance studios, six vocal studios, a technical recording studio, offices, dressing rooms, and storage space for sets, props, and costumes.
This facility will support rehearsals, technical training, skill development, and artist preparation before show launches onboard.
A Mark of Quality
“Having a dedicated space for entertainment development and training is essential as we continue to expand the scope and ambition of our productions,” said Steve Leatham, Vice President of Entertainment for MSC’s Cruise Division. “This state-of-the-art facility will ensure that our shows are ready to be launched and delivered at the highest quality level, reinforcing the Cruise Division’s long-term commitment to innovation in onboard entertainment.”
MSC Creative Studios will become a dynamic center where artists, technicians, and creatives can collaborate from the inception of each project. Located in Edinburgh, one of the world’s great cultural capitals, the studio will draw inspiration from the city’s artistic energy.
“We are excited to see it come to life and to share with our guests onboard MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys the exciting new concepts that will emerge from it,” concluded Steve Leatham.
