As Iran presented a new offer to resume negotiations with the United States on Thursday, April 30, Donald Trump remains firm in his positions. “Do we want to completely destroy them once and for all, or do we want to try to reach an agreement?” threatens the American president.

An Iranian state media announced on Friday, May 1, that a new offer to resume negotiations had been submitted by Iran to the US. “The Islamic Republic transmitted its latest proposal text to Pakistan on Thursday evening, the mediator in talks with the United States,” IRNA reported. Donald Trump responded to the announcement, saying: “They want to reach an agreement, but I am not satisfied with the proposal. We will see. Do we want to completely destroy them once and for all, or do we want to try to reach an agreement? Those are the options.”

However, a question remains: Will Donald Trump order new strikes on Iran and end the fragile ceasefire? The US government has hinted that it would disregard the obligation to seek Congressional authorization to continue the conflict, as the 60-day deadline imposed by the US Constitution expires today.

“We are currently in a ceasefire, which from our point of view means that the 60-day clock is suspended. That’s what we understood, for your information,” argued Pete Hegseth, US Defense Minister, during a Senate hearing. This argument was rejected by the Democratic opposition. The Strait of Hormuz remains under US blockade. Meanwhile, on his social network, Donald Trump is posting AI-generated photos, like this one, where he claims the storm is coming.
