War in the Middle East: A major shock for the most fragile countries, alert the United Nations

The Deputy Secretary-General, Alexander De Croo, traveled to Paris for a G7 development meeting, calling for targeted measures towards vulnerable populations and coordinated action by wealthy countries.

The war in the Middle East is also hitting developing countries hard. After six weeks of conflict, the United Nations estimated that 32 million people were at risk of falling into poverty by the end of the year. We are now nine weeks into the conflict.
