Over twenty-five years ago, France discovered Alizée on the show “Graines de star” on M6. Her face immediately captivated Mylène Farmer, who decided to turn the young Corsican into a true pop star. The French music icon shaped her beginnings by writing her first two albums, including the legendary “Moi… Lolita,” a title that made her a national phenomenon. Last July 4, the former participant of “Dancing with the Stars” celebrated the 25 years of this emblematic hit. The bond between the two artists remains very strong. Alizée, on the occasion of her two concerts at the Olympia on September 8, revealed to “Parisien” that she still remains very close to the ex of Laurent Boutonnat.
Despite the distance, they exchange messages at least once a week. “We don’t see each other much because she has a busy schedule, but when she comes to Corsica, we meet for everything and anything,” she explains. Alizée shares that they exchange animal photos, jokes, and small everyday moments. It is a deep, almost fraternal relationship that has not weakened over the years.
During an interview with the magazine “Biba,” Alizée, promoting the 30th anniversary of the clothing brand LuluCastagnette with her daughter Annily, spoke about her worst fashion regret in her career as an artist. She mentioned that brands with big logos quickly go out of style, but admitted to wearing them on several occasions, much to the chagrin of Mylène Farmer, who always made sure she avoided such clothing.
Alizée has remembered Mylène Farmer’s valuable advice throughout her life. Asked about Mylène Farmer’s potential influence on her return to music, Alizée assured that her friend never forces her to do anything she does not want to do. She mentioned, “She will never push me to do something I don’t want to do. If she sees that I want to do it, she will be there.” A mutual trust already mentioned in 2023 on TF1’s “50′ Inside” show, where the singer said she knew she could rely on Mylène Farmer for any subject in life.
This solid friendship is simply summarized by Alizée as, “I am lucky she is part of my life.” And this bond seems far from fading. After over two decades, their connection goes beyond music, almost like an invisible thread that has never been broken. A mentorship story turned into a heartwarming tale.
