The royal couple, on their first official visit to the United States lasting four days, were welcomed by the Republican leader and his wife Melania at the south entrance of the White House.

All four posed on the red carpet, with the king and the president exchanging some inaudible remarks for the present journalists before entering the building for a tour.

Charles III, a nature enthusiast, Queen Camilla, and the presidential couple visited the beehives at the White House.

Only press photographers were allowed to follow these moments, which lasted a little over an hour.

In various photos, the two couples are seen around a low table with cups and pastries, in the gardens in front of a display of honey pots, and next to a model of the future White House ballroom, a project dear to Donald Trump.

Another photo shows the group passing by a painting of the American president with a raised fist just after the assassination attempt during a rally in Pennsylvania in 2025.

King Charles and Queen Camilla then headed to the British embassy for a “garden party.”

The queen wore, upon arrival at the airport, a brooch that unites the American and British flags, reproduced in gemstones, on a white dress adorned with black embroidery.

The piece of jewelry captures Charles III’s delicate diplomatic mission to ease the tension between London and Washington.

“Un mec super”

The state visit is meant to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence.

It was upheld despite the intrusion attempt by an armed assailant during a gala dinner on Saturday in the presence of the American president.

The Republican leader, fascinated by royal pomp, is quick to praise the monarch while criticizing British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla welcomed by U.S. protocol chief Monica Crowley upon their arrival at Andrews military base in Maryland on April 27, 2026.

“He’s a great guy,” Donald Trump said about the king in an interview with Fox News on Sunday, “he represents his country like no one else can.”

Charles III expressed relief after the shots fired during the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday, which did not result in any casualties.

A suspect was charged on Monday for the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.

Tuesday, the most formal day of the trip will start with a military welcome ceremony.

Donald Trump and Charles III will have a meeting in the Oval Office, while their wives participate in an event on education and artificial intelligence.

The same day, the British sovereign will deliver a speech before the U.S. Congress – the first of its kind since Elizabeth II in 1991.

According to an excerpt provided by the King’s press service, he is expected to discuss the historical ties between the two countries, which have always found ways to come together.

The two couples will then meet in the evening for a gala dinner, attended by a fairly small group, in a reception room at the White House.

Epstein

During their visit to New York on Wednesday, the king and queen will visit the September 11 Memorial.

Charles III will do everything to prevent the tension between London and Washington from causing discord in this well-oiled pomp.

Donald Trump, personally fond of the king, consistently criticizes British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, particularly for his stance on the war in Iran, among other points of contention.

All while not giving too much power to the elusive American president, which would fuel the already numerous criticisms in the UK about this trip.

Another explosive issue in the background of the visit is the Epstein affair and the past friendship of the king’s brother, Andrew, with the late pedophile.
