The French XV will finish its tournament without Oscar Jegou. The French third-rower has been suspended for four weeks by the Six Nations disciplinary committee, where he was called on Wednesday, March 11, found guilty of a foul play act, putting his hand on Scottish hooker Ewan Ashman’s face in a maul, touching his eyes in the process. He will be absent for the reception of the England team on Saturday, in a crucial match to determine the tournament’s winner.

Following the action leading to Darcy Graham’s try (59th minute), in a maul, the Stade Rochelais player was filmed touching the face, and eye area, of Ewan Ashman. He was cited after the match, leading to his appearance before the disciplinary committee. He will miss the Crunch, but also three matches with Stade Rochelais, two in Top 14 and the Challenge Cup round of 16 in Newcastle on April 4.

Becoming a starter in the back row for France, Oscar Jegou has played in all the matches of this 2026 edition of the Six Nations. Impressive against Ireland, Wales, and Italy, he struggled in Scotland, like the rest of the team. In four games, he is the third player to have succeeded the most tackles (72), behind Welshmen Alex Mann (76) and Dafydd Jenkins (73).
