MMA / Jungle strike championship / 4th edition. A look back at an electrifying evening on Saturday at the Parnasse.
The Jungle Strike championship continues to gain momentum. For its 4th edition at the Parnasse in Nîmes, following an electrifying evening, “frankly, the feeling was incredible. We had over 3,750 people, with an amazing atmosphere from start to finish,” praised the organizer, Jordan Kapa.
The program included four amateur fights and six professional ones, after two cancellations due to weight issues: two fighters did not meet the required weight. Among the amateurs, the Nîmes locals Kébé and Rais failed to secure victory in front of their home crowd, both beaten by decision of the judges in a double derby against Montpellier’s Sekkal and Outtaleb.
The Nîmes Taisumov and the South American Pereira in the spotlight(s)
Among the pros, the hometown hero, the talented Taisumov, despite short preparation, delivered a very solid performance against Robert. Very aggressive, he dominated thanks to his elbow work, opening his opponent’s forehead and causing the fight to be stopped in the second round.
The French Nazurov also imposed himself with authority, claiming victory by submission in the first round against the Brazilian Simao.
In another notable fight, for the first JSC belt, the French Saliev quickly ended the suspense against the Peruvian Llontop, winning in the first round with effective ground and pound.
Duel in the sun between South Americans, Pereira retains his belt
But the highlight of the evening was the featherweight belt (66 kg) between the Brazilians Brito and Pereira. “The main event was a real war, clearly a Fight of the night, the kind of fight that leaves a lasting mark and gets people talking,” Kapa continues.
Indeed, an intense and balanced confrontation between the 200th and 220th worldwide. After a tightly contested first round, Brito tried to set the pace, before Pereira gradually regained the advantage, especially by hitting hard on the leg.
After five intense rounds, the South American champion retained his belt. And the Jungle gained a reputation and “recognition beyond France.”
