AC Milan is making concrete progress on the Mario Gila deal. According to calciomercato.com, an agreement is close to being finalized between the Milanese club and Lazio for the transfer of the Spanish defender. The deal is expected to be around 25 million euros.

AC Milan’s sporting director, Igli Tare, has been working on this deal for several months. Negotiations now seem to have reached a decisive stage, with both clubs making good progress to conclude the operation. Mario Gila, a central defender formed at Real Madrid and now a key player at Lazio, would thus become AC Milan’s first official reinforcement for the 2026-2027 season.

Coach Massimiliano Allegri has made a clear demand since his arrival on the Milanese bench: strengthening the team in all areas of the game. Defense was identified as the immediate priority. Gila would meet this need by bringing experience and regularity to the Rossoneri backline.

Furthermore, AC Milan would not stop in their defensive recruitment. The name of Victor Valdepenas, a player from Real Madrid, is also circulating on the Via Aldo Rossi side as a possible additional option.

As for Filip Kostic, the player is expected to join Milan Futuro, the reserve team led by Massimo Oddo, at least according to the club’s initial plans. AC Milan is methodically building their squad for the next season, with the stated goal of competing at the highest levels in both Serie A and Europe.
