In Wisconsin (United States), an American can’t believe his eyes. In front of him, the tornado grows and moves quickly. A few minutes later, the wind has swept everything away, from roofs to vehicles, through windows. 300 kilometers to the south, the same phenomenon was observed. A powerful whirlwind uproots a tree. The scene is filmed by a woman taking refuge in her garage.
On Friday, April 17, several tornadoes struck the central United States. At least five American states were affected. In Minnesota, the damage is impressive. A retiree comes out unscathed, but in shock. “I wanted to go down to the basement, but I couldn’t. I heard a rumble and fell to my knees in my kitchen,” she says.
According to preliminary reports, there are only a few minor injuries. However, the material damage is heavy. April marks the beginning of tornado season in the United States.
