Nathan, 21 years old, has dreamed of the army since he was young. He was able to learn more about this sector during the defense trades discovery day on Thursday, April 16 in Polya&#copy;ro. The land, air, and navy were gathered for the occasion. He testifies: “I have known the army sector since I was very young because both of my parents are in the military. I attended a military high school and currently I am in an apprenticeship at the Hy&#uml;eres naval base. Today, I was able to exchange with navy soldiers and pilots from the Alat [light aircraft of the army], they answered all my questions. I also talked with the flying mechanic, it was very enriching. Currently, I am studying for a degree in aeronautics. In the future, I would like to work as a helicopter pilot in the Alat.”

Marius Vaulot, 21 years old, a student at Polya&#copy;ro in aeronautics, is interested in navy and army pilots. He dreams of being a commercial airline pilot and is exploring other possible careers. He testifies: “There are several students in my class who want to join the army. It’s a good continuation, this day is consistent with our training because we discover new technologies, like drones.”

“As a former student my testimony can help them”

Ga&#uml;l, a former student of Polya&#copy;ro and currently a helicopter pilot in the navy in Hy&#uml;eres, was present that day. After his studies, he joined the navy to become a helicopter pilot. Just back from Tahiti, he spoke with students who, for some, want to be inspired by his journey. Ga&#uml;l found the day interesting: “We want to present our careers. It is related to their studies and as a former student, my testimony can help them in their orientation. I saw several students interested in my journey who are considering defense careers.”
