Las Vegas, the American president tried on Thursday to defend his economic record since the beginning of his second term, over a year ago.
Characterizing it as a “small detour,” Donald Trump referred to the war with Iran despite its unpopularity among the American population. During an event in Las Vegas where he highlighted his measure to repeal the tax on tips, the president tried to defend his economic record since the start of his second term.
Unpopular Military Operation
An Ipsos survey conducted from April 10 to 12 with over 1000 Americans showed that 51% of respondents believed that the military operation against Iran was not worth the associated costs. Only 24% disagreed.
Another survey by Quinnipiac University released on Wednesday revealed that 65% of voters hold Donald Trump responsible for the recent rise in gas prices. In the same survey, 36% of respondents approve of the way Trump is handling the situation with Iran, while 58% expressed disapproval.
