Since twenty-five years, the association cultivates the combination of sports, health, and conviviality. It has just been rewarded by the French Federation of Physical Education and Voluntary Gymnastics.
A nice reward salutes the work and commitment of the association 1, 2, 3 Monteils, led by Marie-Claire Baret. The sports club, with over 150 members, has obtained the Quality Club Sports Health label awarded by the French Federation of Physical Education and Voluntary Gymnastics. The president Marilyne Colombo justifies this distinction, highlighting a particularly deserving Monteils association: “Initiated by our federation, this label rewards, for four seasons, from 2025 to 2029, those of our 4,500 clubs that meet the criteria of excellence, on the one hand, for their associative operation based on respect for administrative and legal rules; on the other hand, for the initiatives taken in favor of accessibility for all to regular and quality physical practices.” This was followed by compliments from Mayor Christophe Massaloup: “I warmly congratulate the president, the members of the board, and the members for this great distinction. Without volunteers, our local associations could never function. I wish you to fully live your passion for sports and to savor each session in sharing.”
Activities
Each week, the municipal hall Côté-Lère offers various stimulating gymnastics sessions adapted to each person’s abilities, supervised and energized by qualified and enthusiastic staff. Members can choose from several disciplines to maintain their physical fitness and well-being in a friendly spirit. The weekly program is as follows: on Mondays from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, gymnastics classes led by Émilie Zamboni; from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Pilates by Vanessa Farga. On Tuesdays from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Zumba classes by Cynthia Beatrix. On Thursdays from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, Nordic walking, and from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Pilates, two classes led by Rémy Triebe.
Genesis of the Association
The association was created in June 2001 by three sporty and enthusiastic Monteillaises, and at that time, it had about 70 members. Today, 150 members maintain and tone their bodies according to the sports-health-conviviality formula. Note that 1, 2, 3 Monteils, the association’s name, was chosen in the spirit of the 1998 FIFA World Cup held in France and brilliantly won by the French team against Brazil 3-0. At the time, the expression “And 1 and 2 and 3” became a symbol.
Program
For several years, to end the season, the association organizes a gourmet market set up between the town hall and the Bon-Temps area. This year, the date has been set for Friday, June 26, with musical entertainment and a Zumba demonstration.
