Iran Nuclear Talks Stall as Trump Decries Deal

On Saturday, two rounds of negotiations took place between Iran and the United States, with a possible third session scheduled for Sunday, April 12. According to Iranian television, “experts from both sides are exchanging texts” to reach a peace agreement beyond the two-week ceasefire that went into effect on Wednesday. The television station cited information from “a person close to the Iranian negotiators.”

Meanwhile, Donald Trump made headlines by declaring on Saturday evening that he didn’t care whether a peace agreement was reached. He confidently stated, “We are in advanced negotiations with Iran. We are winning in any case, we have defeated them militarily.” Trump also added, “Let’s see what happens. But from my point of view, I don’t care.”

The Rising Human Toll
